Although we are many miles away, I'm giving thanks to God for a great mom! Mom, I hope the Chili's celebration was great -- but I wish I could be with you in person on this special day! The Tyler Wall's are thinking of you today!
Our family spent last week in Brownwood at the lake while our church offices are under major construction. I returned and have a wall where my front door used to be. My back glass door and window are both gone and a door stands in their place. It's exciting to see the progress but May still sounds like a long time away.
As we were packing up for the lake, the forecast called for temps in the low 80's (which had Alex & I dreaming of getting near the water). However, those forecasts were way off. Instead, we had a major storm come through and raised the lake level by about 1-2 feet! We drove through the storm on our way back from the ACU lectures on Tuesday night--and it was just some violent hail coming down! Because the storm was moving due east, we ate dinner as it hit Abilene. Then drove through it as we headed to Brownwood. Then, as we got to the lake it reached Brownwood. It was a wild and wet night. Our time at the lake was relaxing and productive, but we're glad to be home. It sure did whet our appetite for this summer though! We CAN'T wait! bw

Howdy folks
Hi Walls,
Just checking in with everyone to let you know I'm on board. The Oak Park Walls are doing well today, despite more rain.
I have six days to go until my third LA Marathon and am looking forward to running w/my old running mate, Brad Cheves.
We helped Mom celebrate #65 at Chilis in Simi last Saturday evening. We enjoyed our time together but missed the Thomases who were in Mammoth skiing (the bums!). :) By the way Mom, happy birthday! (today is the actual day)
In case anyone hasn't heard the news, Carrie was officially accepted into UCSBs doctoral program for this fall. We are now in the process of praying and preparing.
Thanks Ben, for setting this up. I look forward to seeing how it works.
Love you all,
Andy
