Happy Birthday Jessica!

Jessica, what fun you add to our Wall family! I was just looking back at some pix from Thanksgiving/Christmas and had to post these! They just remind me of how blessed my kids are to have such fun and great cousins!

We just wish we could be with you to help you sing your birthday song!

Soccer scores

Garrett's team, the PV Gunners, won their soccer game today 4-1. Because of Spring Break, the team was down to 9 players, so all 9 played all game, versus 11 from the oppposing team. Wow, it was a lot of work, but they rose to the occasion. Garrett had several very nice assists.

Blake's team, the PV United, won their soccer game today 2-0. Again, we were missing some players, but at least we fielded a complete 11 vs 11 match. Blake was goalie the 1st half of the game, and when he came into the midfield the second half, he really added a spark to our team by scoring the first goal of the game (with his left foot!). The game was very well played against a very good Santa Monica team. It is so fun to watch the team improve weekly as they work together!

Bring on Spring Break!

We officially began Spring Break on Friday with a minimum day of school for all 3 of our boys. We kicked it off with a gathering of boys for some pizza and video games (mostly). We plan to go to G and G's on Monday night (Happy B-day Jessica!) between visits to Six Flags.

Bummer

Hi family,
I was laid off this week from Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. They recently announced a consolidation and reorganization that combined 2 sales forces into one. Since I've only been with the company for 2 years, I did not have the seniority of some of my co-workers. Pray that the Lord will provide a great part-time opportunity for me! Phyllis

A Quick Dip

Despite the FREEZING temperature of the pool, Brooke(a friend), Michaela, and I went swimming! After cooling off, we bounced on the trampoline. Time to get a pool cover, I think!

Michaela Lassos the Bull

Michaela was the first one in her group to try the roping. The vaquero (Mexican cowboy) told us you get one point for roping one horn, half a point for roping the rump, and two points for getting both horns. Michaela did herself proud! (click on the play button and see for yourself)

Michaela's Field Trip

Michaela's 4th grade class just went on a field trip to the Olivas Adobe, a historic Mexican rancho from the 1840s that includes a lot of fun learning activities: grinding corn, stomping in mud and making bricks, making (and eating!) masa tortillas, and roping an artificial bull. I've been able to go on this field trip with each of our girls and as always, it was informative and fun.

Grandma's visit

Grandma with two soccer stars!
What a day Sunday turned out to be! Garrett and Blake each won their soccer games, which were both very exciting. Grandma came to see the closing performance of Evita (but we sure missed grandpa!). Austin had a fun time at his cast party while we went to the Seder dinner at church. Thanks, grandma, for making a special trip to see us!!! (and bring us jam : ) We can hardly wait to be all together next Sunday in Oak Park! We will be thinking of you Ben and Trisha, and we trust you will send us cute pictures of your adorable kids!!

Mike and Garrett enjoyed the mazo soup, the sparkling cider, and other interesting things

Jenna's Silly Pics

Ha! I was uploading some pictures, and saw a few Jenna took! Here's one silly one. :)

(Almost) Summer Fun

Michaela and I wanted to enjoy the warm temperatures in a more moderate way- we went swimming. The dip in the pool was chilly, but fun!

A Cool Birthday!

Michaela went ice skating with some of her buddies for her birthday, and then returned home for cookies and gifts. The day was a lot of fun!
A fun note: Michaela got her ears pierced the day before!

Sweet Mom!

My mom, Lois Wall, recently celebrated her birthday --and we got to celebrate a few days later by going out to Outback for a fun, if not chaotic, celebration with my family. It was great to have her and dad in town as Trisha traveled to a Children's Ministry conference. For the record, I'm very thankful for her life of love, service, growth as a Christ follower, whole-hearted worshiper and gentleness that has profoundly blessed my life. Oh yeah, and thanks for the smile too!

Finally!

Brawl is a much anticipated Nintendo game for the wii which came out today. Thanks to a Christmas gift from Andy and Carrie, Garrett and Blake had a copy on reserve at Toys R Us which we got today! If you read "Fox Trot" in the Sunday Funnies today, you saw how everyone felt about the many delays of this game's release... By the way, both the Gunners and PV United were victorious in their soccer games today : )

Evita opens!

Austin is in the ensemble of Penn High's production of Evita. I could only get a picture of him (why is he so shy?) with Michael helping hold him (Michael is in the youth group w/ Austin).

Who am I?

Blake did a Character Speech as this famous person. Can you guess who he is? Here's a hint: he had lots of mottos which he printed in Poor Richard's Almanac, like "Early to bed makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise", and "Eat to live, don't live to eat" and many more... If you want to remember what he looked like, just check out the $100 bill in your wallet! But, don't fly a kite during a thunderstorm with a key tied on to the end! It's already been done by this guy...

City of Children -- part 3

Between all the people who brought cameras and took pictures this past weekend, I brought home 1083 digital pictures. Don't worry, these are the last of these images for now.

By the way, Guadalupe is the nine year old girl at the City of Children whom the Conejo Church sponsors. Each time we visit, we try to spend some special time playing with her and bringing her special presents.
