Epilogue on Track Season

Somehow in all the year-end commotion and craziness, we failed to mention that Jenna had a great conclusion to her first track season. Her best times were 5:46 in the 1500 and 2:41 in the 800; she also cleared 4'7" in the high jump. She received the Coaches' Award for her outstanding work ethic and coachability.

It's Official -- We Have a High Schooler!

Last Friday, Jenna Rebecca Wall graduated from Medea Creek Middle School. She distinguished herself in a number of ways, including being only one of about 14 graduates (out of 320) who has straight As through middle school. We're certainly proud of our Jenna and look forward to the high school years. Obviously, I subscribe to the Beverly Gibson school of thought: "If ya dun it, it ain't braggin'."

Storm Champs!

We are the champions my friends......!

Tonight we had our closing ceremonies at Jim Parker Little League--and we got to get our trophies! Our team was in great spirits after winning our league championship (enjoy the "gun show").

We only lost our first game in league an then won the rest (with one tie).

Tomorrow night we have our whole team out to our ministry campus for a swim party! It'll be great to play host to some who've never heard of our church--and some who have come to our "Harvest Party" this past year!

Good bye Dapplegray

Can you find Blake? (right in front of our principal)
Blake at Decker's swim party

It was with mixed emotions that we said "good bye" to Dapplegray this week. It was the last time any of our boys would ride a bike to school, it was the last time we would go to an elementary school, it was the end of an era. Blake is ready for middle school, but we will have a change in administration there as our principal has retired. The promotion ceremony today was lovely and Blake celebrated at a friend's swim party after the ceremony. I had a job interview while he was partying, and I have no idea how it went! Oh well, it's off to Europe for us!

On The Cusp of High School

Next Friday, our Jenna Rebecca will graduate from Media Creek Middle School! She has done herself proud and we're excited to celebrate her accomplishments. Here are a couple of shots before her 8th grade culmination dance.

End of the Season

Jessica's volleyball team, the Marshmallows, completed a good season today. Jessica has played for at least five seasons and is becoming an accomplished volleyball player. I enjoyed getting to coach her and a team of sweet girls. We had seven gals on the team, though not all were there today. Next up for Jessica: the overhand serve!

A Nice Team

Michaela's All School Show

On Thursday, Michaela's elementary school put on its annual year-end all school show. As you can see, the theme was western and each grade performed two appropriately themed songs.

One of Michaela's songs told the story about an old-timer who had a snoring problem and his long-suffering wife. Four kids were selected to do a loud snore on the microphone during each verse; unfortunately, the boy just before Michaela knocked the mike off the stand and Michaela didn't get to do her snore. Though disappointed, she took it in stride.

Ain't she a cutie!

The Boys

Thursday night the 5th grade class of Dapplegray performed their annual play, Freedom Bound, about immigration to America. Blake, like his 2 brothers before him, had the leading male role of father, which included several singing solos. He did a great job, and if you don't believe me, just ask grandma and grandpa who came for the show!! As a bonus treat, Garrett's middle school band/orchestra had a concert the same night, so we all rushed to that event after the play. As we looked at the program, we noticed that Garrett was president of the band! Who knew?
